The William S. Dietrich Endowment for Faculty Excellence

Chatham University, located in Pittsburgh, is a coed institution of higher learning established in 1869. As the alma mater of environmental icon Rachel Carson, the university is a national leader in the field of sustainability.

Among other mission-related initiatives, Chatham University directs annual distributions from The Dietrich Foundation to support faculty development, such as recruiting and retaining world-class faculty, providing summer research stipends for faculty or research assistants, supporting conference and research travel, and starting a laboratory for new faculty.
